Release You: The Smash Center aims to provide an alternative outlet that will allow members of the community to actively release life’s everyday difficulties in a controlled setting, as opposed to damaging themselves or other crucial components in society. This structured physical release of the emotional accumulation of anxiety, stress, grief etc., will ultimately give access to a coping mechanism that will help to combat negative coping methods that have become a prominent issue in the Florence County area. According to Florence County officials, nearly 900 known drug overdoses took place in 2020, 34 in which ended in death. Despite the excellent mental health providers and behavioral facilities located in the Florence area, it is evident that an additional option will in fact be an asset to the community of Florence. Let us work together to create an area in which the traditional means of therapy are enhanced by utilizing a distinct way to release.

The Visionary...
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Addictions Counselor, National Certified Counselor and Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor Candidate within the state of South Carolina. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Coker College and my Masters of Arts in Professional Mental Health Counseling from Webster University. I have experience in treating preadolescents, adolescents, and adults using individual, couples and group therapy. I have experience in treating a variety of presenting problems, including phase of life challenges and substance use disorders. I also have experience with working with sexual predators; however, I do not currently hold any certification in that area. I prefer to use a Solution-Focused, Brief Therapy approach to treatment and believe in focusing on solutions, rather than problems.
